National webinar: “Clinician How-To: Supporting Parents Through Cancer Conversations with Their Kids”

Event Type: Virtual (Zoom Session)

Who Can Attend: This free educational webinar is well suited for adult oncology and palliative care providers of parenting patients.

Cost: Free

Pickles Group supports kids and teens impacted by a parent’s cancer—but that support often begins when clinicians ask about the children of their parenting patients.

This practical, skills-based webinar builds on "What About the Kids?" and "How to Prepare the Kids" by focusing on what clinicians can do in real-time with parenting patients. Participants will learn how to routinely identify whether patients have children or young people in their home or family, explore what has already been shared, and guide parents toward supportive next steps.

Grounded in Pickles Group’s three core pillars—honest information, coping skills, and connection—this session equips clinicians with concrete language and strategies to help parents communicate clearly, respond to their children’s emotions, and foster resilience and family connection over time.

This free webinar is being led by Chief Clinical Officer Kelsey Mora, LCPC, CCLS, Pickles Group Chief Clinical Officer.

Participants will also receive a practical one-page guide to support parenting patients in clinical practice.
